Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a fluorescent lamp which provides stable discharge by arranging the first and the second discharge electrodes on a straight line, and shielding the second discharge electrode with a discharge pass-forming body. CONSTITUTION:The first stem 2 is fused to the tip of a flare tube 1 to which an exhaust tube 1a is fused. A pair of the first leading-in wires 3 and a pair of the second leading-in wires 4 penetrate the stem 2 and are fused to the stem 2. A supporting material 5 is pierced by the second leading-in wire 4 and is fused to the stem 2. Next, the second stem 6 is fused to the tips of the supporting materials 5, and the second discharge electrode 7 is connected to the ends of the second leading- in wires 4. Following that, the bottom of a discharge pass-forming body 8, which is a glass body of substantially cyrindrical shape, is welded to the second stem 6 with the second discharge electrode 7 located inside the cyrindrical glass body 8. After that, the first discharge electrode 9 is welded to the ends of the pair of the first leading-in wires 3.
