Abstract
PURPOSE: To recover oily floating matter efficiently, by spouting gas to the surface of liquid at a prescribed flow speed through an annular nozzle of a prescribed diameter while keeping a prescribed distance from the liquid surface.
CONSTITUTION: The distance from the lower end of an annular nozzle to the liquid surface is adjusted to the second critical distance or smaller. Hereby the floating matter on the liquid surface is drawn near the center by doughnut-like whirl formed between the outlet of the annular nozzle and the liquid surface, and is sucked with a pipe provided at the center of the annular nozzle. Because no vibration is caused on the liquid surface, the spouting gas is adjusted at a flow speed not larger than the critical spouting speed. In addition, to remove the effect of wave, the annular nozzle having diameter larger than the wavelength of the wave is used. Hereby oily matter floating on the liquid surface is recovered very easily and efficiently.
