An ink reserving portion 18 containing an ink impregrating member 19 consisting of a porous material is provided in the case 14, the member 19 is engaged with the driving wheel 15, and the ink is applied to the ribbon 13 through the driving wheel 15. Replenishment of ink to the ink reserving portion 18 is effected by removing a cover 20 of the case 14 arranged above the portion 18 and feeding the ink through the opening formed by the removal of the cover 20.
