Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a frequency dividing circuit consisting of a small number of elements and less in electric power consumption by connecting three series- connected transistor circuits of C-MISFET and MISFET across an electric power source and by controlling them with clock pulses CP. CONSTITUTION:Three transistor circuits consisting of p channel CH type MISFETMPs 11-14 and NCH type MMISFETMNs 11-15 are connected between positive potential V1 and earth potential V2 as shown in the figure. When input CP is at level L, MP11 and MN11 are ON and OFF, connection point A11 is at level H, and MN13 is OFF, so that connection point A12 will be held in the previous voltage level state. On the other hand, when CP rises up to level H, MN13 and MN14 are ON, MP12 is OFF and connection point A12 is at level L, turning on MP14. Next, when CP is at level L, connection point A13 is at level H, turning on MN12. Those states are repeated to obtain a half-frequency-division output at connection point A12 every time CP makes a round. The rise and fall change time of CP is shorter than the operation time of the transistor circuits, so that the electric power consumption will be reduced.
