Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent decreasing of an output upon light load low revolution operational range and speed reduction by a method wherein a bypass passageway bypassing an exhaust turbine is provided in an exhaust system and a part of exhaust gas is bypassed the exhaust turbine upon the light load low revolution operational range and the speed reduction by utilizing a pressure difference between fore and aft portions of a throttle valve in a suction system.
CONSTITUTION: During an operation of an engine, exhaust gas discharged into an exhaust passageway 15 is entered into an exhaust turbine 5 and rotates the turbine as well as a blower compressor 6 directly coupled to the exhaust turbine 5. Thereby, suction air from an air cleaner 11 is compressed and is supplied to the engine through a passageway 9. In this case, a negative pressure of the suction air at downstream of the throttle valve 8 is acting on a diaphragm chamber 21 of a driving mechanism 20 in a light load low speed operatinal area wherein the throttle valve 8 is substantially fully closed and opens a valve body 18 of a control valve 17 against a spring 24. Accordingly, a part of the exhaust gas from the engine is bypassed the exhaust turbine 5 through a bypass passageway 16 and is discharged into an exhaust pipe 14, thereby, increasing of the exhaust gas pressure may be prevented.
