Abstract
PURPOSE: To remove scum effectively by a simplified additional means in which a driving part fitted to a flight to rake scum and a driving part fitted to the following flight are coupled with each sliding bar of a tilting device and a restoring device.
CONSTITUTION: When the flight 3 fitted with the driving part 15 reaches a scum- raking end portion and then comes into contact with the sliding bar 11, the movement of the flight 3 is transmitted to the sliding bar 11, the coupling bar 13, and the tilting bar 15; the scum-collecting pipe 5 begins to turn toward the flight 3 side. Then, the scum-collecting pipe 5 is stopped at a position where the driving part 15 is far from the sliding bar 11, part of the scum inlet 8 is immersed in water, and the discharging of scum begins. Then, when the driving part 15' fitted to the flight 3' comes into contact with the sliding bar 11', the movement of the flight 3' is transmitted to the sliding bar 11', the coupling bar 13', and the restoring bar 16; the scum-collecting pipe 5 is lifted, and the discharge of scum is finished.
