Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled substance useful as a deprotenizing agent industrially and advantageously, by extracting a high-polymer tannin with a lower alkanol, precipitating the tannin with an aqueous solution of dipotassium hydrogenphosphate, dissolving the tannin with an aqueous solution of an alkaloid, and separating through gel filtration and dialyzing the tannin.
CONSTITUTION: A plant material containing high-polymer tannin, e.g. a young astringent persimmon, is brought into contact with a lower alkanol, e.g. methanol, to extract the high-polymer tannin in the lower alkanol phase. The lower alkanol phase containing the high-polymer tannin is brought into contact with an aqueous solution of dipotassium hydrogenphosphate to give a precipitate containing the high-polymer tannin. The precipitate is then dissolved in an aqueous solvent and brought into contact with an aqueous solution of an alkaloid capable of forming a precipitate with the tannin to give a precipitate containing the high-polymer tannin. The resultant precipitate is dissolved in a solvent and separated from the alkaloid by gel filtration and then purified by dialysis to afford the aimed substance.
