Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase the saturation of a specified color without affecting greatly the reproducibility of other colors for the frequency separation type signal-tube color TV camera, by securing the differenct gains between the plus and minus sides of the color difference signals. CONSTITUTION:Only the signals of the plus side are selected by the minus-side clipping circuit for the color difference signal R-Y obtained through the subtractor 6, and then amplified by the amplifier 8 having the amplification factor A1 to be led to the adder 15. On the other hand, only the signals of the minus side are selected for the signal B-Y led to the plus-side clipping circuit and amplified by the amplifier having the amplification factor A1' (A1'>A1) to be led to the adder 15. Then the signal R-Y having a large gain of the minus side compared with the gain of the pluse side is obtained at the output of the adder 15. Thus only the gain of the minus side of the R-Y signal is increased compared with the NTSC system, and as a result the saturation of the green is increased. And accordingly, the number of the colors to give an effect to the color reproduction is reduced. In such way, the saturation of the green color can be increased without giving any effect to the reproducibility of the flesh color.
