Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an electrodynamic speaker with flat frequency characteristics by increasing the lowest frequency of split vibration, by fitting a reinforcing member to a cone. CONSTITUTION:To plane rectangular cone 107, reinforcing members 109- are fitted by adhesives on its back (one main surface) in a body. Those reinforcing member 109 are continuously fitted being nearly perpendicular to a contact line between frame 106 and voice coil 105 driving cone 107. The direction of the continuous line of reinforcing members 109 is equalized to the direction in which a lateral acoustic wave advances on cone 107 so as to increase the bending strength of the cone to vibrations of the lateral wave, and consequently the lowest frequency of split vibrations is remarkably increased, so that a speaker with flat frequency characteristics can be obtained. This method can be applied to a discoid or horned cone besides the plane rectangular cone.
