Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the working condition of treatment, and to remove the occurrence of secondary environmental pollution, by arranging a vessel contg. substances to be treated, e.g., waste etc., in a treating tank, then by treating the substances with hot jet of a jet burner from above.
CONSTITUTION: Waste 3 is put into a vessel 4 by opening the shutter 2 of a treating tank 1. A hot jet of a jet burner 5 attached at the upper part is blasted to the upper surface of the waste 3 contained in the vessel 4. The waste 3 is jet-treated, e.g., the waste is disintegrated, dried, distilled, and thermally decomposed in order beginning with the substance which is most easily treated, and is conveyed through a pipe 6 to a recovery unit. Substances which are hardly jet-treated, e.g., metals, are left in the vessel 4, and the substances having been jet-treated and not conveyed with air current collect as residue 7 at the bottom of the tank 1. The residue in the vessel 4 is made completely harmless by heating the vessel 4 and are discharged out of the tank 1 by opening the shutter 2, and the residue 7 at the bottom of the tank 1 is made harmless by jet treatment and discharged by opening the bottom cover 8.
