Abstract

PURPOSE:To mass-produce the composite pipe at high speed, by forming the cast ingot, etc., of dissimilar materials as it is, or the round billet obtained by working these ingots, into a tubular shape by the skew rolling mill, and by finishing the tubular material into the specified outer diameter and wall thickness by the rolling mill of the latter stage. CONSTITUTION:The stainless steel round bar 1 is placed in the center of the casting mold, and the molten steel of the ordinary steel 2, being molten in the vacuum melting furnace, is poured into the mold; hereby, the blank cast of the ordinary steel 2 with the core of the stainless round bar 1 is prepared. Next, this blank is subjected to the hot forging work and is formed into the round billet; this round billet is formed into the pipe by the skew rolling mill like as the Mannesmann piercer, etc. Then, this blank pipe is finished by the plug mill into the composite pipe with the specified outer diameter and wall thickness. That is, this composite pipe is constituted of the stainless steel material 1 as the inner layer and the ordinary steel 2 as the outer layer.
