Abstract
PURPOSE: To shorten a crosslinking time by a method wherein a parison of water crosslinkable polyolefin is pinched with forming molds and is inflated by blowing steam into the parison.
CONSTITUTION: A water crosslinkable polyolefin, which is a copolymer of an unsaturated silane compound having hydrolizable organic group and olefin, is molten and mixed by an extruder or the like together with an auxiliary material blended in accordance with a necessity and is extruded as the parison of a single layer or under a laminated condition with another material. This parison is pinched with forming molds and pressurized steam or the pressurized steam and compressed air are blown into an interior of the parison to inflate it, thereby contacting it closely to a surface of a cavity of the molds to effect the hollow forming. In this case, a silanol condensation catalyst such as dibutyltin dilaurate or the like is used under blending beforehand with water crosslinkable polymer or coating on or impregnating into the hollow form as solution or fluid dispersion.
