Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a measurement of temperature with high sensitivity and high accuracy, by leading the light from the object to receive a measurement of temperature through the optical fiber to project it onto the solid absorber after modulation by the chopper, detecting the elastic wave thus produced by the piezoelectric element and then obtaining the temperature of the object to receive a measurement of temperature by the output of the piezoelectric element. CONSTITUTION:The light from the object 1 is led through the optical fiber 10 and then divided into two optical paths by the distributor 14 to be projected onto the solid absorbers 12 and 12a after modulated by the choppers 11 and 11a each. The absorbers 12 and 12a have the absorbing bands with different wavelengths, and thus the electric output corresponding to the intensity of the light absorbed is obtained through the pizeoelectric elements 13 and 13a each. These signals are processed by the signal process circuit 15 respectively, and the temperature of the object 1 can be obtained from the ratio between those outputs. As a result, the temperature can be measured with high sensitivity and high accuracy and with no contact.
