Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible light depressing operation of a channel selecting member by providing smooth transverse movement of the clutch operating plate of a clutch operating mechanism of a channel selecting device such as a tuner, which clutch operating plate being adapted to move transversely across the channel selecting member.

CONSTITUTION: When depression of a push button 9, a channel selecting member 1 advances to cause a clutch operating plate 31 suspended by a link 33 to move leftward through a swing plate 36 by the engagement of an inclined actuating part 39 and a following roller 40. Thus a cam part 35 pushes up the free end 26' of a swing plate 26 separate the transmitting wheel 24 of the clutch of the manual tuning mechanism 20 from a transmitting wheel 27 so that the clutch is released. With further advancement of the channel selecting member 1, a memory pin 3 engages with a notch 41 at its bottom while a following plate 13 moves in a transverse direction corresponding to the angle of rotation of a control plate 4. The variable element of a variable tuning unit 17 is controlled corresponding to the transverse movement of the following plate 13 so that channel selection is completed.
