Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the amount of steam and calory used without decreasing the adsorption capacity of semicoke by a method wherein the gas obtained from the processes of activation and dry-distillation is combusted, heated, and used to activate the semicoke in the dry-type desulfurization.
CONSTITUTION: In preparing the activated semicoke that adsorbs sulfur dioxide in a dry-type desulfurization process, the semicoke from the dry-distillator 7 is activated by gas discharged from the activator 8, or by combustible substance discharged from the dry-distillator 7, or by steam and heat obtained by heating and burning of unreacted steam. In this manner, steam and heat are circulated for use so that the dry desulfurization is efficiently performed.
