Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the productivity with the decreased reheating heat-input, by installing a slack at a point between the rolling mills to be connected to the continuous casting machine, and by performing the continuous rolling work without cutting the continuously cast billet. CONSTITUTION:Plural lines of continuously cast billets 9a, 9b, are simultaneously, continuously cast by the continuous casting machine 1 and are passed through the reheating furnace 5; after that, respective billet is separately rough rolled by the roughing mills 6a, 6b. The slacks 11a, 11b, are installed in these rough rolled materials 10a, 10b, so as to be slightly slackened; after that, plural lines are simultaneously rolled by the intermediate mill 7 and the finishing mill 8; hereby, the bar steel products 12a, 12b, are finished. By installing these slacks 11a, 11b, the continuously cast billet and the rough rolled material are prevented from the excessive tension and the generation of the rupture trouble; therefore, the continuous casting work and the continuous rolling work are naturally, smoothly connected.
