Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to accomplish a quick replacement of an arrestor by invariably keeping a low voltage applied to a preliminary arrestor (surge absorber). CONSTITUTION:Normally, contacts 10-1, 10-2 and 10-4 of a switch 10 are closed while a contact 10-3 thereof is opened. An arrestor 8 is connected to the positive side p and the negative side n of an exciting circuit while a low voltage is applied to a preliminary arrestor 8-1 by way of a potential resistors 11 and 12. To change the arrestor 8, the contacts 10-1, 10-2 and 10-4 of the switch 10 are opened while the contact 10-3 is closed to connect the preliminary arrestor 8-1 to the exciting circuit. Such an invariable application of a low voltage to the preliminary arrestor eliminates the need for application of the voltage by a separate power source for the replacement of the arrestor thereby enabling quick change of the arrestor.
