Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain the degree of vacuum in the metal flask constant by providing a check valve and an auxiliary suction device which makes use of elastic material to the connection part between the metal flask for vacuum casting and a vacuum suction pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Even if there is slight leakage of vacuum after vacuum suction, the specified degree of vacuum is maintained. For example, a check valve 9 and auxiliary suction device 1 are provided to the connection part 3 between a metal flask 2 and flexible hose 8. When air is sucked by a vacuum pump, the valve 13 which is energized to a suction hole 12 by a spring 14 is lifted and the air in the metal flask 2 is increased of speed by passing through vent ports 4, 11 and is exhausted. When the suction is ceased after the molding, the valve 13 is returned by the spring 14 to close the check valve 9, whereby the inside of the metal flask 2 is maintained at the specified degree of vacuum. Even if there is slight vacuum leakage after the hose 10 has been removed, the piston 7 which is held energized inward by a spring 6 in the cylinder 8 of the auxiliary suction device 1 moves so as to take the balance of the pressure in the cylinder 8 and the pressure in the metal flask 2, whereby the original degree of vacuum is maintained.
