Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an image record of high qualty, by arranging recording means oppositely near the end of a suction zone in the transporting direction of a recording material.
CONSTITUTION: Recording paper supporting and transporting drum 4 consists of central cylinder 8, internal partition boards 9a, 9b, 9c and porous cylinder 10, and cylinder 8 and boards 9a, 9b, 9c are fixed as shown in the figure. Boards 9a, 9c divide the inner space of drum 4 into suction zone 4a and nonsuction zone 4b, board 6b further divides zone 4a into 2 chambers, thus permitting a strong suction force to be produced as compared to a single chamber structure by constituting plural chambers, especially the end of recording paper 1 to be securely sucked. Since mechanical engagement between paper 1 and its supporting body is not required, an image record of high quality can be obtained without danger of damaging the recording material.
