Abstract

PURPOSE: To purify a crude phosphoric acid fluid obtd. by decomposing phosphate ore with sulfuric acid by filtering the fluid using a filter provided with filter plates with filter cloth attached to obtain a clarified phosphoric acid soln. and discharging caky impurities accumulated in the filter chamber together with a washing liq. by agitation.
CONSTITUTION: When impurities suspending or floating in a crude phosphoric acid fluid obtd. by decomposing phosphate ore with sulfuric acid are separated and removed, the fluid is filtered using filter 5 provided with a plurality of filter plates A with filter cloth B attached to obtain a clarified phosphoric acid soln. Caky impurities accumulated in filter chamber F of filter 5 are then separated and removed from cake discharge hole P of filter 5 by allowing a washing liq. to flow into chamber F from the inside of each plate A and rotating shaft G provided with agitating plates H to perform agitation. Thus, the fluid is efficiently filtered and purified without requiring a filter aid.
