Abstract

PURPOSE: To record the information at a constant track pitch, irrespective of the rotary speed of the disk, by controlling the movement of the optical head on basis of the information which has detected the rotarty angle amount of the optical disk.
CONSTITUTION: The rotary speed of the optical disk 11 which is decided by the rotary speed of the motor 14, is set by the position of the head 29 in the radial direction of the disk 11, that is to say, the position signal from the optical scale 40 provided to the main control circuit 21 from the tracking control circuit 42, in order that the scanning line speed by the optical head 29 can be made constant. Therefore, when the disk 11 rotates and the head 29 moves in the inside circumfe rential direction of the disk 11, the rotary speed of the disk 11 is controlled according to the position of the head 29, and in consequence, not only the scanning line speed of the head 29 extending over the whole disk 11 but also the pitch of a spiral track drawn on the disk 11 are made constant. Thus, the information can be recroded at a constant track pitch at all times.
