CONSTITUTION:Respective picture element signals from the scanner obtained by resampling and reading the digital picture are sent to the system consisting of buffer memory 1 of one-line components and buffer memory 2 of one-picture element components and the system consisting of buffer memory 3 of one-picture element components simultaneously, and respective information of four picture elements A, B, G and H which are caused to agree with one another in respect to time are extracted and are transmitted to logical operation circuit 4 simultaneously to calculate the sum of their density levels; and if the calculation result is larger than the slash level selected previously, the picture element having the maximum density in the specific picture element region is determined as a black level, and output picture element signals are transmitted to the plotter through output buffer memory 5 of two-line components successively.
