Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce power comsumption and make an acoustic device small-size and light-weight, by feeding DC power for the final-stage output amplifier along the envelope of the instantaneous peak value of a sound signal to be amplified. CONSTITUTION:DC electric power is fed from commercial AC power source AC to final-stage sound output amplifier PAMP through DC-AC converter INV. When sound signal SA is applied from the input terminal to pulse width control circuit CONT through isolator IS, the output pulse width of DC-AC converter INV is changed according to sound signal SA. On the other hand, sound signal SA is applied to sound output amplifier PAMP through delay circuit TD and preceding-stage amplifier AMP. Further, part SC of the output of sound output amplifier PAMP is fed back to the input side of preceding-stage amplifier AMP to prevent final-stage complementary transistors from generating waveform distortion and noise due to fluctuation of respective collector potentials based on power source fluctuation.
