Abstract

PURPOSE:Titled tracing device which improves the accuracy and reliability in tracing welding, by controlling a torch in copying welding in the manner wherein arc sounds are detected at the left and right ends of a torch and these sounds are made coincided with each other to bring a torch to the correct position. CONSTITUTION:A tip 16b of a welding torch 16 is so set at the position in a feeding table 13 as to face to a welding line 33 of works 31, 32 with a specified distance, and the torch 16 is made weaving to build up welding while the works 31, 32 are moved. Microphones 23 are located in the neighborhood below the works 31, 32 and output the signal S corresponding to the detections of arc sounds. Arc sounds become higher when the tip 16b of the welding torch 16 approaches near the works 31, 32 and arc sounds become equally high when the center line of the torch 16 coincides with a welding line 33. When the center of the torch 16 deviates from the welding line, an arc sound of a deviated side becomes higher than the other. The height of these arc sounds are compared and operated 27 and output into a driving circuit 28 to move the torch 16 then letting coincide this torch with the welding line 33.
