Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a compressor light in weight by a method wherein the crank shaft of a fully-closed type electric compressor for an electric refrigerator and the like is prepared by a number of plastic worked articles as a crank shaft structure wherein steel pipes are combined with steel plates.
CONSTITUTION: When the crank pin part, etc. of a crank shaft 1 made of steel pipe is formed by plastic working, a flange serving also as a thrust bearing part is made on the outside diameter on the side of an eccentric-part journal by a beading process, and a balance weight 2 having a minimum bore and made of a steel plate through the plastic working beforehand is pressed therein. The crank shaft 1 to which the balance weight 2 is fixed is made to pierce through the main bearing part of a frame 5, the rotor 7 of an electromotor is directly connected to the lower part thereof, and the whole structure thus prepared is housed in a plate-thick closed container 8. Since this method has no cutting process, any waste related thereto is generated and also the working of any slots and oiling orifices is unnecessary, whereby the cost for a compressor can be reduced.
