Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate defect incurred by blowing a cold air-mixed hot air into a blast furnace only by one air-heating furnace at the time of switching by a method in which air is always blown by two air-heating furnaces when hot air is sent into a blast furnace by four air-heating furnaces and also the blowing of constant-temperature air by two air-heating furnaces is made possible even at the time of switching.
CONSTITUTION: In case where four air-heating furnaces 2AW2D are used for the blast furnace 1, the opening degrees of the butterfly valves 5AW5D provided on the midway of the air-sending pipes 4AW4D branched from the main air-sending pipe are measured, and by using the opening degrees of the valves as factors, the air-heating furnaces are switched; that is, the amount of accumulated heat of the air-heating furnaces is estimated by using one or two or more values of the opening degrees of the butterfly valves 4AW4D, the flow rates of air in the blanched pipes of each air-heating furnace by the flow meters 6AW6D, and the temperatures of hot air at the outlets of air-heating furnaces, or values calculated from these values and air-sending and combustion periods in order to control the temperature of air being sent by the combustion-ending switch signal of the air-heating furnace to send air subsequently and also the air-sending finish control signal of the air-heating furnace which sent air previously. Thereby, the amount of cold air to be mixed at the time of switching can be almost eliminated, while lessening the lowering of heat efficiency of the air-heating furnaces, the loss of heat quantities, and the variation in the temperature of hot air being sent.
