Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the effective collection of dust and dirt in oil and to obtain the stabilized insulation of the oil-filled DC machine by a method wherein the inner wall of a tank is covered by an insulating barrier providing a dust-collecting through hole which is forming an oil gap with the tank inner wall. CONSTITUTION:The whole surface of the tank inner wall 1 of the oil-filled DC machine is covered by an insulating barrier 7 having a through hole 8 for dust collection in such way that an oil gap is made between the inner wall 1 ans the insulating barrier 7. The oil gap is 10-100mm. wide, for example, and the through hole has an o]ening area of 25cm<2> or less and it is made at the rate of one hole of a plate having an area of 100cm<2> or more. As a result, the dust in oil is effectively collected to the oil gap through the penetrated hole for dust collection when a DC voltage is applied and the insulation of the oil-filled DC machine can be stabilized.
