Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the sintered cathode body which is stable in the contact between the base body and sintered body and is superior in volume productivity by coating Ni paste on the base body metal and sintering, then pressing the mixed powder to mold the same and sintering the molding.
CONSTITUTION: Ni paste 8 is deposited on the base body metal 7 composed primarily of Ni having been heat-treated in a hydrogen atmosphere or vacuum and is then dried. This is heated in a hydrogen atmosphere or vacuum to bake the Ni powder contained in the Ni paste 8 to the base body metal 7, whereby porous rough surfaces are formed. This is installed in a molding die 6, and the mixed powder 9 containing the high-melting-point metal powder composed primarily of Ni is put on the Ni powder layer 8, thence static pressure is applied between knock-out 10 and punch 11 to compression-mold the powder which is then sintered. The base body metal side of the Ni powder sintered layer 14 of the sintered cathode body obtained by this method perfectly sinters to the base body metal 12 and the mixed powder sintered body side becomes firmly intermeshed with the mixed powder sintered body 13.
