Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the photographic fog and edge stains of the end parts of images by making the axial length of conveying magnets shorter than the axial length of developing magnetic poles thereby correcting the amount of the developer at the end parts of the developing magnetic poles. CONSTITUTION:Even if the developer which is held on the peripheral surface of a sleeve 2 and is conveyed to an electrostatic image carrying body 6 by the magnetic pole action of magnets 3, 4 is leveled off by a blade 5, there is a tendency that the amount of the developer increases at the end parts of the magnets 3, 4. Thereupon, the length L of the magnets 3, 4 is made shorter than the length L1 of the magnetic poles in the image forming area A-A and longer than the width L2 of the effective developing area B-B. Then, even if the developer at the end part of the magnet 3 protrudes like (m''), it becomes of the extent just reaching the image forming area A-A; therefore, the photographic fog and edge stains of the end parts of the images may be prevented.
