Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent damage to a radiator grill, by mounting an upper section of the radiator grill on a car body through hinges, and at the same time avoiding contact between the upper wall of a bumper and the lower section of the radiator grill, and making them capable of moving relative to each other at the time of light collision.
CONSTITUTION: A radiator grill 1 is pivotally attached on the body of a car through a hinge 8 which has been fised beforehand at the end section of a car body panel 3. This hinge 8 consists of a base plate 10 of an L-shaped cross section, the side section 9 of which is fixed on the car body panel 3 by welding, etc., and a fitting piece 12 pivotally attached to the end section of the base plate 10 through a hinge shaft 11. The radiator grill 1 is supported by fitting into fitted hole 14 at the upper end of the radiator grill 1 a fitting section 13 at the end section of the fitting piece 12. Further, a projecting plate 18 of a base 23 which includes V-shaped legs 19 and 19' is inserted into holes 15 and 16 formed on an upper wall 4 of the bumper 17 and an upper side wall 6 of the radiator grill 1. It is thus possible to have relative motion between both parts 1 and 17.
