Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable such control of a drive circuit that no right and left deviation is caused even if a driving voltage fluctuates, by providing a delay circuit which is triggered by a printing signal synchronized with a printing head position detection signal. CONSTITUTION:A delay circuit 14, which produces an output pulse of width that is large when a driving voltage is high and that is small when the driving voltage is low, synchronously with a printing head position detection signal, a magnet driver 17 which starts driving a printing head synchronously with the rear edge of the output of the delay circuit 14, a wire driving magnet 18, etc. are provided in the printing head drive circuit of a dot matrix printer. As a result, a dot printing position in the moving direction of the head does not deviate even if the driving voltage fluctuates. Therefore, high printing quality is attained and an expensive stabilized power supply unit does not need to be used to drive the head but a non- stabilized power supply unit of low cost can be used satisfactorily.
