Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable recording of a picture image having a high gradation by a method wherein, in the subject recording method by jetting inks of different densities through a plurarity of ink jet nozzles, small ink drops are selectively electrified according to input signals. CONSTITUTION:Several portions of ink having different densities are jetted as liquid clumns 8-1-8-4 from orifices at tips of ink jet nozzles 5-1-5-4 via pressurizing means 1-4, and ducts 7-1-7-4, and the ink liquid columns are separated into small ink drops 9 in synchronism with frequency excited by electro-mechanical convertors 6-1-6-4. The half tone picture of an original is converted into digital signals via a photo-electric convertor 17, an amplifier 19, and an analogue digital convertor 21. When electrified signal generators 22-25 of electrifying means 10-1- 10-4, for electrifying the small ink drops are controlled according to said digital value, only non-electrified small drops reach a storing medium 12, which results in obtaining a picture image having a high gradation.
