Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten a warming up period of a heater in using a burner while opening and closing a water valve frequently, by providing a means for keeping a pilot flame alive for a predetermined while after closing of the water valve in a hot- water supplying apparatus, so that a main burner can be ignited in case that the water valve is opened while the pilot flame is kept alive. CONSTITUTION:When the water valve 4 is opened, a micro-switch 3 is turned ON and the timer in a timer circuit 2 is set. At the same time, the pilot burner 6 and the main burner 8 are set into operation successively through the operation of a pilot flame detector 5 and a main burner controller 7 and supply of hot water is started. When the water valve 4 is subsequently closed, the timer is set into operation but operation of the main burner 8 is stopped while keeping operation of the pilot burner 6 for a predetermined period. If water valve 4 is opened again during this period, the timer circuit 2 is set into operation and the main burner 8 is ignited immediately. On the other hand, if water valve 4 is not opened during the above- mentioned period, the timer is turned OFF and operation of the pilot burner 6 is also stopped.
