Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture the rolled product of good shape, by setting the necessary number of shape controlling passes correspondingly to the material quality and the size of the rolled product, and by deciding the schedule for securing this necessary number of shape controlling passes.
CONSTITUTION: At rolling the sheet material, the number of shape controlling passes is previously set correspondingly to the quality of the rolled material and the size of the rolled product. Depending on the aim crown value of the rolled material in the final pass and the aim reducing rate of the crown ratio (the crown value/sheet thickness) of the rolled material in the shape controlling pass, and also according to the crown value calculating formula (Formula I) including the rolling load, and the rolling load calculating formula (Formula II) including the run-out side sheet thickness and the rolling reduction, the rolling reduction at each shape controlling pass is obtained successively from the final pass back to the upstream side. The overall pass schedule is set by obtaining the rolling reduction of each pass, on the upstream side of the shape controlling pass, to be expected by the upper limit of the rolling load of the rolling mill. The rolling work is performed depending on thus obtained schedule.
