Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the direct-acting type relief valve with a stable reliefing pressure, by providing an adjustable gap in front side of a valve body, allowing this gap to produce the secondary pressure and applying this pressure onto a flange surface of the valve body to minimize an override value.
CONSTITUTION: An outer circumference of the flange 22 of a poppet-type valve member 16 of the relief valve is provided with a tapered surface 23, an inner circumferential surface of an end of a sleeve 12 on the opposite wall surface is provided with a tapered surface 25, and a gap 26 is provided between them in a conical shape. When the valve 12 starts opening, the gap 26 squeezes an oil flow to produce the secondary pressure in the secondary pressure chamber 24 on the bottom of the flange, and this pressure acts on the bottom surface of the flange 22 to push open the valve member 16 more smoothly. For this reason, an override value becomes small. Further, if the width of the gap 26 is changed by making screw adjustment of the sleeve 12 from outside, the secondary pressure value is adjusted, and it becomes possible to be set to an appropriate value by flow rate and full flow set pressure, and therefore, the reliefing pressure becomes stabilized.
