Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten the rise time of recording and reduce the waiting time by a method wherein a recording material fed from a paper feed roller is conveyed by a support and conveying drum provided with attracting and nonattracting areas and recording thereon is performed immediately at a fixed recording speed.
CONSTITUTION: Recording paper 1 carried out by rollers 3 being carried by carrying rollers 51 and 52 through guides 121 and 122, the tip part of the recording paper 1 is made to reach the peropheral surface of a perforated cylinder 10 rotating at a fixed speed. In the pertinent attracting area 4a the air in the interior space of the drum 4 is sucked and discharged through a sucking hole 8a of a central cylinder 8, thus the recording paper 1 being attracted immediately on the peripheral surface of the perforated cylinder 10. When the recording paper 1 reaches a recording head 7 to be recorded and the paper 1 recorded arrives at the nonattracting area 4b, the attracting force which works so far is released and thereby the paper 1 is made free from the perforated cylinder 10, thus being discharged into a discharged-paper tray 15.
