Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit a compact plunger-type oil hydraulic pump for a cutting tool or the like to produce a high pressure by providing a cylinder divided into two by means of a valve in the oil tank tightly filled with oil, omitting a suction valve, and making the ratio of the high-pressure chamber volume to the dilivery smaller.
CONSTITUTION: The pump is operated by the reciprocation of a plunger 9 in the front chamber A of a cylinder 10 by the drive of a motor 3 through a cam 7 on the eccentric portion of a driving shaft 4. When the plunger 9 is moved backward by the force of a spring 8, a negative pressure is applied in the front chamber A because a valve seat 11 has been closed by a switching valve 14. Consequently, when the plunger 9 opens a suction port 12, operating oil filling an oil tank 1 enclosed is sucked into the front chamber A. When the plunger 9 changes its motion to the discharge stroke, the operating oil in the front chamber A flows into the rear chamber B against the force of a spring 13, and is discharged from a discharge port 15. When the quantity of the oil in the oil tank 1 decreases, the pressure in the tank 1 lowers, and this causes a flexible bag 25 opened in the atmosphere to expand. Consequently, the pressure in the oil tank 1 is kept equal to the atmospheric pressure, and so the pump smoothly operates without lowering its function.
