Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled hollow fiber for dialysis and ultrafiltration, having a high tensile strength free from macrovoids, pinholes and impurities, by spinning a solution of plural types of cellulose esters having different properties through a spinneret having a double pipe structure.
CONSTITUTION: Plural types of cellulose esters, e.g. a combination of cellulose esters with different ester groups and combined acetic acid contents (acetyl contents), having different properties are dissolved in a nonvolatile organic solvent, e.g. DMF, to form a 15W30wt% spinning solution. The solution is then fed from a feed inlet 1 to an outlet path 6 and extruded with a liquid core agent which is fed from an feed inlet 2 to an introductory path 5 into an aqueous bath continuously. The coagulated fiber is drawn or treated with hot water if necessary, hydrolyzed with an alkali and regenerated as a hollow cellulose fiber. The core agent is removed in the stage stage of forming into a product or in use.
EFFECT: The uniform and round cross-sectional shape provides easy handling.
