Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate acquisition by narrowing the range of a reception frequency scan by previously predicting and setting the frequency of satellite down link in a receiver. CONSTITUTION:Reception frequency converter 2 converts a signal, received by antenna unit 1, into an intermediate frequency and after the Doppler effect is compensated by Doppler-frequency-shift compensator 3, it is input to receiver 4. Reception-frequency scan controller 5 takes a scan within the required frequency range and stops the scan on receiving acquisition information from receiver 4 and memory unit 6 remembers the current reception frequency. From this point, the acquisition narrow in frequency range can be attained by supplying the frequency stored in unit 6 to controller 5 as an initial value.
