Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent wrong action through a cheap construction, by providing a plurality of sensors at required places along a container, connecting the sensors to one another through cables and detecting a leakage place from the wave forms of a transmitted pulse signal and a pulse signal which is reflected by the sensor.
CONSTITUTION: Sensors 2aW2n, the impedance of which varies due to the permeation of a liquid, are provided at required places along the container and connected in parallel with cables 3a, 3b. When a pulse signal of V1 in voltage is transmitted from a pulse signal generator 11, reflected voltages from the first, the second, ... and the n-th sensors have wave forms as shown at U1WUn. The wave forms are observed by an oscilloscope 12. When leakage occurs in the position of a sensor, its resistance becomes infinite to mean that no sensor is in the position. At that time, the wave forms are displaced by an interval corresponding to one wave form. For this reason, the occurrence of the leakage and its position can be found out. This results in preventing wrong action through a cheap construction.
