Abstract
PURPOSE: To find a leakage section accurately by a liquid leakage detection system on the TDR system by considering a leakage detection cable to be composed of connected small sections, by observing sampled values of incident and reflected pulses, and then by finding leakage width through the fixed arithmetic processing of sampled values.
CONSTITUTION: Under the command of central controller 12 of the microprocessor, arithmetic controller 8 sends out a pulsating voltage from timing generator 7 and while pulse generator 4 is supplied with the pulse generation command, AD converter 6 is also supplied with the command for sampling at constant intervals of time. Once the pulse voltage is applied to cable 1 from pulse generator 4, the applied voltage and reflected voltage are detected by receiving amplifier 5 and AD converter 6 samples the signal to send a digital signal to arithmetic controller 8. Through arithmetic processing, the leakage width is accurately calculated from reflection coefficients at respective connection points, when cable 1 is considered to be made up of small sections, the maximum and minimum positions as to the reflection coefficient and the phase speed in the section between the both.
