Abstract

PURPOSE: To refine mineral oil without producing waste adsorbent products, by a method wherein a catalyst based on silica-alumina or aluminosilicate is used as adsorbent for mineral oil and then is used as a fluidized catalytic cracking catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A new, or regenerated and recovered catalyst of silica-alumina base or crystalline aluminosilicate-based catalyst is first used as adsorbent for mineral oil. The used adsorbent is supplied to a fluidized catalytic cracking equipment, where it is used as a catalyst to refine mineral oil. This method of adsorbent processing is effectively utilized in a contact filtration or permeating filtration, similarly to the processing method using conventional active clay.
