Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a crosslinked PVC product being excellent in age resistance and oil resistance and useful as an insulating material for wires or cables, by adding neopentyl glycol diacrylate etc. and tri-n-octyl trimellitate etc. to PVC and irradiating the resulting mixture with an ionizing radiation.
CONSTITUTION: A crosslinked PVC product being excellent especially in age resistance and oil resistance and good in electrical insulating properties, is obtained by radiating with an ionizing radiation, a composition prepared by adding, to 100pts.wt. of PVC, 2W50pts.wt. of neopentyl glycol diacrylate and/or neopentyl glycol dimethacrylate and 20W70pts.wt. of tri-n-octyl trimellitate and/or tri(2- ethylhexyl) trimellitate.
