Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a lock nut washer with a turn-restraining function for a propeller-securing nut by providing on a surface of said lock nut washer, which surface is brought into contact with the nut upon securement of the same, a projection of a configuration extending along each outer side wall of the nut.
CONSTITUTION: A lock washer 41 is formed of a disk portion 41b defining an inner central bore 41a through which a propeller shaft 20 cam be extended, six securing pieces 41c protruding outwardly and radially from the disk portion 41b with a certain interval and six protrusions 41d formed by punching said disk portion 41b to form six square U-shaped slits and pulling so-defined portions upright above the upper surface of the disk portion 41b. Each protrusions 41d is shaped into a rectangle which is somewhat larger than each outer side wall of a hexagonal nut 43 so that the hexagonal nut 43 may be restrained from turning. The upper edge of each upright protrusion 41d is inclined downwardly in the fastening direction of the hexagonal nut 43 on said propeller shaft 20.
