Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the durability of the flow-through cell for light absorption analysis by employing a thin film of a high molecular compound as a window plate. CONSTITUTION:The window plates 4, which are fixed to fixing plates 1 of plastic or metal through rubber plates 2 and a spacer 3, are formed of thin film of a high molecular compound, such as polytetrafluoroethylene, vinylidene fluoride-tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, polyamide or the like, which has a small infrared absorptivity, large solvent-resistance and a thickness of approximately 30-200mu, desirably approximately 50-100mu. This permits the infrared absorbed by the window plates 4 to be so small that the analysis is substantially unaffected. Moreover, the window plates 4 are allowed to be solvent-resisting and free from contamination and cracks. Thus, the desired purpose is attained.
