Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the chemical resistance, wear resistance and surface hardness by a method wherein a transfer sheet that contains a sublimating coloring agent is used for the thermal transfer and the top coat agent is applied to the transfer surface and hardened after the top coat agent or transfer surface is preheated. CONSTITUTION:The thermal transfer is performed on an alumina film or silica film, which is obtained from a colloid alumina or colloid silica, by the use of a transfer sheet that contains a sublimating coloring agent, the top coat agent is applied to the transfer surface after the top coat agent or transfer surface is preheated, and is dried and hardened to complete the thermal transfer. As the top coat agent, a water soluble resin such as an emulsion polymer in which vinyl system unsaturated monomer of vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer system emulsion is emulsion-polymerized can be used. The preheating temperature of the top coat agent is 40-70 deg.C and that of the transfer surface is 40-80 deg.C.
