Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain dichlorosilane at a relatively low temp. in a high yield by allowing a specified compound to catalytically act on trichlorosilane.
CONSTITUTION: At least one of 1-trimethylsilylimidazole, 1,8-diazabicyclo [5,4,0]- 7-undecene, ε-caprolactam, 1,3-dimehtyl-2-imidazolidinone and 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine is allowed to catalytically act on trichlorosilane to obtain dichlorosilane at a relatively low temp. in a high yield. The catalyst used is 10W500, preferably 40W300g per kg trichlorosilane. The reaction temp. is 30W120, preferably 30W 60°C, and the reaction time is 2W15, preferably 3W8hr. After the reaction, distillation is carried out at 70W90°C to remove vaporizable components.
