Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the demagnetization phenomenon of the signal magnetism in a magnetic recording medium by magnetizing hard magnetic thin films in such a manner that the magentic flux from a bias magnetic flux generating member passing soft magnetic thin films and the magnetic flux of the opposite direction are flowed through the soft magnetic thin films. CONSTITUTION:Soft magnetic thin films 22, 72 are soft magnetic thin films of a short rectangular strip type which consist of ferrite, etc. and are provided with shield functions. Hard magnetic thin films 23, 73 consist of oxides such as Fe-O type, and Fe-CO type, metals or alloys such as Co, Co-Ni-P type, etc. The magnetic flux leaking from a magnet or electromagnet 9 provided in order to apply bias magnetic fields to a magnetoresistance effect element film 4 flows to the element film 4, while it also flows to the thin films 22, 72, but the thin films 23, 73 are so magnetized that the direction of the magnetic flux thereof is made opposite from the magnetic flux of the magnet or electromagnet 9 past the thin films 22, 72, whereby the magnetic fluxes in the thin films 22, 72 are offset.
