PURPOSE:To switch the reception state suited to the state of transmission to a slave station, by providing not only a primary channel to be used for transmission of data but a secondary channel to transmit an address allotted to the slave station. CONSTITUTION:When a transmission request is supplied through a transmission request input terminal 12 at a slave station, an address generating device 14 generates an address of the slave station decided previously to transmit the address to an up-going transmission line through a secondary channel transmitter 15. The address of the slave station transmitted from the slave station via the secondary channel is received by a secondary channel receiver 23 at a master station and then given to a primary channel receiver 24. With reception of the slave station's address, the receiver 24 sets to the receiver the latest value corresponding to the slave station among the AGC levels stored previously with every slave station and the tap coefficient of an automatic equalizer.
