Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the distance and relative speed up to an objective target without clutters by determining the band corresponding to the true detected output other than clutters based on the differences between the detected outputs of respective channel through a multifilter and the average value thereof and controlling a filter gate. CONSTITUTION:Reflected CW waves are detected with the respective filters 211-, detectors 221- of a multifilter 20, and the differences between the detected outputs thereof through operators 241- and the average detected output by an average value operator 23 and A/D converted and are applied to an arithmetic control device 33. The device 33 determines the detected output channel from the true target of the large differential signal and controls a filter gate 32. Then, only the CW detected output from the true target is applied to the device 33, by which the relative speed from the target, the distance by the peak frequency analysis of the detected outputs, etc. are determined, and a collision preventing alarm, etc. is generated by the operation based on the own speed, etc. Hence, the distance and relative speed to the objective target are measured accurately without the influence of clutters owing to the waves reflected from road surfaces, etc.
